Purpose of the storm

The circumstances of my life have brought the implications of Isa 43:2-3a very much alive to me: ‘When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the LORD your God’ (GNB). God did not promise to remove every fire or raging waters or the troubles before we get there; He promised to GO THROUGH WITH US to ensure that they do not destroy us. The righteous may indeed go through storms, but if we can rely on God, He will be available to deliver us from them ALL: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Jehovah delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken (Ps 34:20-21a). [Excerpts from ‘THE PURPOSE OF THE STORM’]
